Zentangled Family Portrait
I feel like I've been a million miles away. I promise to reconnect with all my blog friends once the October Art Festival is over. I'm just nervous because it's my first one. I've had Art Shows every year for years but they have always been held in my home where it doesn't rain. I've never displayed at a festival. The only difference really is that I may have weather to deal with which is the one thing that makes me nervous. Any who...sorry to babble!! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend(O:
Here is a photo of my family portrait that I've been working on for the past few days. I think I'll make the background solid black so the portrait will pop. I'm not sure if I have it in me but I would love to Zentangle each letter in the alphabet. That may be a project in my future(O: Happy Monday!!

This is one of the most awesome pieces I have seen! WOW. Really what a cool, clever and brilliant idea. I can totally recognize you.
ReplyDeleteI want one of my family!
....hope you are enjoying preparing for your show! I know you will be an amazing part of the show.
xxoo
This is so cool. Wish I still lived in the area so I could attend the show. Many blessings that your show is a sublime success.
ReplyDeletei love your art
ReplyDeleteGood idea,lovely work!!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see you go from one thing to the next, exploring and making beautiful work.
This is zen-tanglishious!
ReplyDeleteI love it woman!
It's funny, the other day, my husband and I rearranged our living room so that we could clear up wall space to hang one of my gigantic stretched canvases. It's blank and I'm in the brainstorming stage still....but I was thinking of painting our portraits, but done in a colourful sort of way....funky, unique....
the problem is that I always have toooooooooooo many ideas rather than not enough...and that is actually a problem! lol
take it one day at a time...
I hope it doesn't rain for you!
thanks for the inspiration...as always...
ciao bella

Hi Rebecca,
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I lurve this piece!
Yes, the black background would be fabulous.
Good luck with the art festival, I'm sure you'll have plenty of interest and I hope the weather is kind to you.

Rebecca, This is so UNIQUE and BEAUTIFUL, you guys are going to love this!! I'm a little curious as to the dimensions of the piece? I'll do a little anti-rain dance for you! That would make me nervous too!! Good luck at your festival-----your COMING OUT!!!
ReplyDeleteWow-this is amazing--my hand would get so tired with all the tangling!!
ReplyDeleteOh, Rebecca--awesome--I'm always amazed when I come here. You'll love your art festival, and I can't wait for the customers to see your art!!
ReplyDeleteDear Rebecca,
ReplyDeleteYou are in for a real ride with the festival and art shows. I spent my lifetime at it and I don't regret a minute of it but it is not for the weak hearted. I have a feeling you are going to to extremely well and be "bitten" by the show bug. Your family zentangles are terrific!
Do you ever sleep?! I was wonderign where you were...and i cannto believe you completed that portrait already! You better get some rest after this art fair...I get tired just thinking about all the work you are doing! And itis all great...love the family.....
ReplyDeleteI second Denise's question - Do you sleep?- or nervous energy? This portrait is fantastic. So individual!
ReplyDeleteYour show will be a hit, how can it not with your creativity? It will all come together. Good luck with the weather.
Lee:)
That's really cool! Beautiful. And I hope the weather cooperates for your show. Make a mint!
ReplyDeleteYour family portrait is wonderful, with so much detail that is totally You. The butterfly, wheels and turtles are my favorite details. BTW, you've inspired me to begin tangling and I'm loving it; it adds so much dimension and "texture" to a piece ... and reminds me of you! Wishing you a beautiful day/weekend for your show, and wishing I could be there to attend and be a part of the total awe of those viewing your booth. You'll be a huge hit! xoxo
ReplyDeleteRebecca; I seriously do not know how you do it! You have so much creative energy it just oozes out of all your beautiful art! This is an amazing treasure you have created here! Just awesome!
