Zentangled Family Portrait

I feel like I've been a million miles away. I promise to reconnect with all my blog friends once the October Art Festival is over. I'm just nervous because it's my first one. I've had Art Shows every year for years but they have always been held in my home where it doesn't rain. I've never displayed at a festival. The only difference really is that I may have weather to deal with which is the one thing that makes me nervous. Any who...sorry to babble!! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend(O:

Here is a photo of my family portrait that I've been working on for the past few days. I think I'll make the background solid black so the portrait will pop. I'm not sure if I have it in me but I would love to Zentangle each letter in the alphabet. That may be a project in my future(O: Happy Monday!!

  4. This is zen-tanglishious!
    I love it woman!

It's funny, the other day, my husband and I rearranged our living room so that we could clear up wall space to hang one of my gigantic stretched canvases. It's blank and I'm in the brainstorming stage still....but I was thinking of painting our portraits, but done in a colourful sort of way....funky, unique....

the problem is that I always have toooooooooooo many ideas rather than not enough...and that is actually a problem! lol

take it one day at a time...
I hope it doesn't rain for you!

    thanks for the inspiration...as always...

    ciao bella

  10. Dear Rebecca,

You are in for a real ride with the festival and art shows. I spent my lifetime at it and I don't regret a minute of it but it is not for the weak hearted. I have a feeling you are going to to extremely well and be "bitten" by the show bug. Your family zentangles are terrific!

  12. I second Denise's question - Do you sleep?- or nervous energy? This portrait is fantastic. So individual!
Your show will be a hit, how can it not with your creativity? It will all come together. Good luck with the weather.

  14. Your family portrait is wonderful, with so much detail that is totally You. The butterfly, wheels and turtles are my favorite details. BTW, you've inspired me to begin tangling and I'm loving it; it adds so much dimension and "texture" to a piece ... and reminds me of you! Wishing you a beautiful day/weekend for your show, and wishing I could be there to attend and be a part of the total awe of those viewing your booth. You'll be a huge hit! xoxo

India

Meet India, she is such a treasure! I made from a tea cup I brought back from India last year. She sits 6 1/2 inches tall. The base she sits on is a beautiful square plate I found in Crate & Barrel that matched the tea cup perfectly. India has been embellished with fabrics I also brought back with me. Her hair is a combination of wool and acrylic fibers and she is jeweled with brass accents. India has henna patterns on the souls of her feet and around the tops of her arms and sits in this peaceful position as she meditates. She's waiting to sit in your home and bring you peace.
