Back to a Tiny Studio Again
It's funny how my girls talk me into things and I find myself uprooting my belongings to make them happy. My eight year old Emma Grace has been complaining for the past week how she wants to have her own room. This was after complaining she wanted to share a room less than a year ago. I do understand they are getting older and want their privacy..... The problem with this is that when she moved into Zoe's room I wiggled my way into her old bedroom and took it over for my nice a big, very pink studio(O: Not anymore. Before I was in Emma Grace's (old, soon to be new again) room I was in the closet under the stairs but after another brainstorm I found myself another nook in the house to make my own. It is an extra closet in our kitchen. I took the doors off and got out my paintbrush and after about a million trips up and down the stairs I managed to bring my desk and all my art supplies down and fit them into this nook in the kitchen. The nice thing is it is in the kitchen so I can probably spend even more time in there and I also have the kitchen table to work on for my bigger projects. One day we will have a bigger house and I will have a whole room to myself with sun pouring through the windows. One day!!! For now I wanted to share my new space with you. This was my creative project for Saturday.

Available Now!!!
A nice spot, and so neat and clutter-free! Love the color...and the book on the desk, especially, ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, that was very sweet of you. What we do for our kids, right?
ReplyDeleteI love what you've done with your little space, especially love the red room! Looks so creative!
I love your studio story!! I also love how your daughter knows you! I bet you will love the kitchen cuz you will be "right in the middle" of all activity....then again...maybe that'll drive you nuts! I took over my son's room when he went to college. I'm never up there unless sewing....I need to be with my family, right smack dab in the middle. I have a pretty good radar that can tune out what needs to be tuned out!
ReplyDeleteLove your space....I just want to peek over your shoulder as you create!
This looks great and very organized too. I love the idea of the shutter fly book too. Genius!
ReplyDeleteCherish these days with your girls... all too soon, you'll have TWO empty rooms. My daughter just graduated high school and I know all about it :)
I got here from the blog hop and love your art!
Cheryl
My studio is the dining table and it sort of spreads out from there. Like you I dream that one day...
ReplyDeletewish to share a cup of coffee or tea..and have an awesome chat with you on that table.. or... just quiet moment.. wouldn't that be nice..!
ReplyDeleteSome day =)
Wow, this space is amazing. So tidy and organized. It looks great, and you definitely made the most of what you had. And, I love the long paintings on the walls, so cool!
ReplyDeleteOh i too have had squishy little nooky spots to create in before...downsizing, then upsizing my supplies again and again....
ReplyDeletelife is a process...especially with kids!
right now my studio is in the raised basement of our home here..and I love it...new windows that let in plenty of light...and the good hubby just installed two bright florescent lights for me because I often find myself here working at night!
i love the colour you chose to paint the background....and you might even find that working in the kitchen has it's certain perks!
the inspiration will be right there before you, calling you...staring you in the face as you make coffee, as you make dinner or whatever it is you do in the kitchen!
I know I did a whole lot more spontaneous laundry when we lived in the apartment that had the washer dryer in the kichen!!! lol
this is awesome!
thanks for sharing...it's really a wonderful thing to see where other fabulous artistic people create!
ciao bella
