"My Mona Lisa" & "Complicated Woman"
Here are a few more pieces from my past. It wasn't that long ago, just a year ago but it goes to show you that I am constantly trying new things and sometimes it looks like the work of many different artists. I went through a stage where I wanted to make paintings made up of lots of tiny images that can be seen when you look more closely. This was incredibly difficult for me but it was an exercise I gave myself. These are the two I completed through this exercise.
My goal is that some day I will settle into one style and stick with it. Now that I am working towards the Art Festival in October I have begun a new collection of 8 paintings. I am actually working on the eight pieces simultaneously. I want my tent look like a little boutique of treasures. Since this will be my first Art Festival I really want to leave my print. Hmmmm my print....... now what is my print?? Well, I've been working on that for the past 38 years and it's time to figure it out. I have always loved faces and have done them in so many different ways but I think I have figured out my favorite way to create faces. I will show the beginning stages in my next post. I hope you all have an inspiring day!!

What is so fun with these wonderful paintings it to sit a long time and look, then squint and one sees them differently. The first painting for me reflects the many responsibilities in a womans life, also squinting when looking really makes the face appear. I would agree very complicated work.
ReplyDeleteI would think much gratification on completion.
Wow!These certainly leave a great 'impression' on me- how many hours do you have in these? I am looking for new inspiration at the moment and these are so intriguing. Don't ever stop opening new doors.
ReplyDeleteWhat great fanciful art works!
ReplyDeleteYou are very talented in all things you made.
