"Daisydolls Gypsy Caravan"

I decided to try something new after coming across some beautiful photos of gypsy caravans. I think I may have been a gypsy in my past life because I am so drawn to them. This may trigger a slight name change for my blog. These caravans make me smile. Stay tuned for the transformation of this new project. These are a few photos of the before stages. I created it from a few bird houses, tongue depressors, and a few wood blocks for the step. I also added a few wooden flower pots and a piece of white poster board for the roof to cover the space in between the two bird houses. Can you see my vision, do you have any idea what I'm going to do to this unfinished wood? It's time to paint and embellish this tiny gypsy caravan. Now this is going to be fun!!!

  1. Oooo, can't WAIT to see what you do with this piece, Rebecca!!! I, too, love anything gypsy-ish, and perhaps that's why I'm so drawn to your latest Daisy Dolls ~~ they are so colorful and full of life.

My love of gypsies influenced my first Suzi Blu Petit Doll, whom was a gypsy. You're inspiring me to do a Gypsy Goddess now! Which reminds me, I've been meaning to ask you, where did you learn the techniques used in creating your latest Daisy Dolls portraits? Was this something self-taught? If so, you need to start some online classes ~~ I'd sign up immediately!

Wishing you the best of weekends filled with total bliss, much love, and lots of creativity!

  2. Rebecca, I am so EXCITED to see how you transform this!! I'm wanting to get out my Barbies (too bad, long gone) and put them in a gypsy skirt and knock on your door to borrow a cup of sugar! Or a beer :D :D

  5. Hi Rebecca, thanks for stopping by place and leaving such nice comments. I love your work. The idea of putting your prints in a book so it can be a journal is such a wonderful idea. If your caravan is anything like your art work it is going to be incredible. Can't wait to see it.

Happy Valentines Day!!

Happy Valentines Day!!
These are little Valentines Mice made out of little white stones. I stuck felt hearts on them and then embelished them with bows and eyes. This is a fun Valentines Day craft for my daughter's second grade class!

India

Meet India, she is such a treasure! I made from a tea cup I brought back from India last year. She sits 6 1/2 inches tall. The base she sits on is a beautiful square plate I found in Crate & Barrel that matched the tea cup perfectly. India has been embellished with fabrics I also brought back with me. Her hair is a combination of wool and acrylic fibers and she is jeweled with brass accents. India has henna patterns on the souls of her feet and around the tops of her arms and sits in this peaceful position as she meditates. She's waiting to sit in your home and bring you peace.

Art Doll Mable
Meet Mable, she's trying her best to keep her skin glowing. She believes in nourishing her body from the inside out but once a week a good facial mask and cucumbers on her eyes make all the difference in the world. She stand 8 inches tall and would love to sit on the side of your tub or on your dresser. She could spend hours in the bathroom! * Mable is an original one of a kind decorative Art Doll and not meant to be played with as a toy.
