"Oh..... If I Only Had a Studio Front"

"Oh..... If I Only Had a Studio Front", this may be what it would look like. Another project I have for my students is to find a photo of a store front that fancy's them and transform it into something that reflects their personality. This is one I came up with for myself(O:

Also, I am in the middle of trying to reorganized my house before the girls go back to school so if I don't respond to some of your wonderful comments please know I am reading them I am just in the middle of piles of things to go through in my house. Some people spring clean......I always have to do a big clean out before school starts so we all feel organized around here. The good news is the little nook in the kitchen where I have been working for the past 4 weeks is no longer. Part of my big reorganization is literally turning my dining room into my studio / Art Journal Classroom. Ahhhh, it's no free standing Studio but it's certainly bigger than my nook in the kitchen & I'm still down stairs where everything is happening which allows me to play in my studio more. My girls are forever playing with me in the studio so I do feel very lucky to be creating almost everyday(O: They will never be able to say they weren't exposed to the Art's (maybe smothered.... just kidding). They love it like I do!!! Have a wonderful day everyone, I will be busy ORGANIZING...

  2. Happy organizing. We have several little vacant storefronts in New Castle that look like your studio front. I always wish I could have a shop, too.

  8. Every time I come here I get more and more inspiration. Love your studio picture.

Having a studio in the midst of the main family area is such a good thing. I recently moved my studio from an upstairs bedroom down to the main floor and I'm so much more productive now. Good luck with the re-organizing. Don't work too hard!

  9. You are so full of great ideas Rebecca! I am sure that your students are going to be completely inspired to art journal after they are taught by you!
I know the feeling of summer organizing... my boys tend to grow out of everything during the summer and therefore we have to do an organization session before we go school clothes shopping... and then there's the school supplies shopping (which I love because I am a huge lover of school supplies/art supplies! lol). Happy organizing! Hugs.

  13. I'd love to hear more about how your are making your studio "store fronts", is it a collage? Drawing? Painting? I admire that you're getting lots of cleaning out done before school, I love it when I get going like that. Hopefully after vacation I'll feel up to the task :D

Happy Valentines Day!!

Happy Valentines Day!!
These are little Valentines Mice made out of little white stones. I stuck felt hearts on them and then embelished them with bows and eyes. This is a fun Valentines Day craft for my daughter's second grade class!

India

Meet India, she is such a treasure! I made from a tea cup I brought back from India last year. She sits 6 1/2 inches tall. The base she sits on is a beautiful square plate I found in Crate & Barrel that matched the tea cup perfectly. India has been embellished with fabrics I also brought back with me. Her hair is a combination of wool and acrylic fibers and she is jeweled with brass accents. India has henna patterns on the souls of her feet and around the tops of her arms and sits in this peaceful position as she meditates. She's waiting to sit in your home and bring you peace.

Meet Mable, she's trying her best to keep her skin glowing. She believes in nourishing her body from the inside out but once a week a good facial mask and cucumbers on her eyes make all the difference in the world. She stand 8 inches tall and would love to sit on the side of your tub or on your dresser. She could spend hours in the bathroom! * Mable is an original one of a kind decorative Art Doll and not meant to be played with as a toy.
