Sketchbook Project 2011 (pages 18 & 19)

Thanks again everyone for all the feedback on my sketchbook. I'm telling you it's what's keeping me going here. Normally I would be ready to start something new by now but I'm almost finished. I have so many upcoming projects I am going to need to focus on starting in August and then the kids are back in school so I really must finish this first.
This two page spread has been done with sharpie paint pens, archival ink and then I made their snazzy wigs with collage paper. I think they look like they're from the 70's. There are 3 faces to find today. I'm planning to make a few things with some of the images from this sketchbook like hairbrushes, pendants and possibly a few wall mirrors. With this being a sketchbook I will be giving away when it's complete I'm going to do a photo collage using all these images. Imaging finding all the faces in the crowd then(O:

  4. oh yes, it's a work of art you'll be giving away in the end..i keep forgetting that...sometimes it's so hard to part with our art, isn't it? I know that's how I feel....anyways...be sure to copy all of your work to keep in your own collection! I love when you use your own art copies for further creative works of art! you are G O O D!

    and yes, as far as your comment went...my home is always peaceful and quiet..with music in the background and creativity flourishing in every corner! we are all the same here...all four of us...I am married to a fellow artist...and we are always up to something here!

    thanks for your sweet comment!
    have a great day!

    i'm off to decoupage a pair of retro double-decker end tables for my living room....hopefully they turn out right!

  7. Rebecca;
    I see the third one on the second face. These are fabulous. I know it's hard to finish the journal all on one subject isn't it?
    I have nominated you for an award on my blog.
    Hugs to you

Happy Valentines Day!!

Happy Valentines Day!!
These are little Valentines Mice made out of little white stones. I stuck felt hearts on them and then embelished them with bows and eyes. This is a fun Valentines Day craft for my daughter's second grade class!

India

Meet India, she is such a treasure! I made from a tea cup I brought back from India last year. She sits 6 1/2 inches tall. The base she sits on is a beautiful square plate I found in Crate & Barrel that matched the tea cup perfectly. India has been embellished with fabrics I also brought back with me. Her hair is a combination of wool and acrylic fibers and she is jeweled with brass accents. India has henna patterns on the souls of her feet and around the tops of her arms and sits in this peaceful position as she meditates. She's waiting to sit in your home and bring you peace.

Meet Mable, she's trying her best to keep her skin glowing. She believes in nourishing her body from the inside out but once a week a good facial mask and cucumbers on her eyes make all the difference in the world. She stand 8 inches tall and would love to sit on the side of your tub or on your dresser. She could spend hours in the bathroom! * Mable is an original one of a kind decorative Art Doll and not meant to be played with as a toy.
