"Combining Handmade Stamps with Zentangles"

I am a person who absolutely loves color. I have also created many series in black and white by using Zentangles.

Zentangles - Paintings with patterns instead of painting with color.

My eyes are equally satisfied when the detail is there. Here are a few pages where I combined my new lady stamp and a few different Zentangles. I like to have a source to look back on with some different Zentangles to pick from so I made this page as a resource for my students to give them examples of a few different ones I doodled.

The photos at the end are of the postcards that are now available in my etsy shop. Rebecca's Funky Font postcards. These are great for cutting out the letters and using them on future journal pages. You get a pack of six cards (2 of each design) for $8.00 One side is glossy color and the other side is black and white.

That's all for today, until tomorrow. Have an artsy day everyone!

  6. I love color, too. :) But b-w are just as awesome. I made a couple of stamps from erasers as well. YOu can get some sort of rubber in craft shops, I don't know how it's called but you just carve the image out like with the eraser. I know Alisa Burke has an on-line workshops for making stamps. She uses some sort of foam.
    I wish you a fab weekend! :)

  7. Great idea about the zentangle patterns. I found when making them that i kept using the same patterns over and over--so its fun to see what patterns others use.

India

Meet India, she is such a treasure! I made from a tea cup I brought back from India last year. She sits 6 1/2 inches tall. The base she sits on is a beautiful square plate I found in Crate & Barrel that matched the tea cup perfectly. India has been embellished with fabrics I also brought back with me. Her hair is a combination of wool and acrylic fibers and she is jeweled with brass accents. India has henna patterns on the souls of her feet and around the tops of her arms and sits in this peaceful position as she meditates. She's waiting to sit in your home and bring you peace.
