Sketchbook Project 2011 (pages 14 & 15)

For some reason I have been seeing a lot of Bee's lately so I thought it was a sign and only fitting I incorporate them into my sketchbook. So here I sit with my hot tea with toast and honey presenting to you my next two page spread.

Thank you to everyone who has been commenting on my pages. As I said when I started this journey of the Sketchbook Project, this will be my first sketchbook filled from cover to cover. At 38 years old it's about time I did that. I am trying to stay focused on this sketchbook and the only way I can is if I do it daily until it's finished. I was the child in school who did her report on the first day so it would be finished and then I could move on to other things. That is my mission here, if I stay on schedule I will be finished one week from today. My kids have soccer camp this week so I am really buckling down.

Have a WONDERFUL Thursday everyone!!!

  10. I love coming here everyday to see what you've created--it always puts a smile on my face. These are just awesome, and for some reason, we don't have that many bees around here this year.

  11. Love the bee theme! I was on a bee kick myself a couple of months ago. There is just something so interesting about bees! And they are so fun to paint :)

  12. or maybe the message is that you should 'bee'-have! heheee....

i do that too..incorporate what is going on in my life in the art I'm making....even hairdo's on the girls I draw seem to reflect what I'm sporting.....

  13. I'm really admiring your pages, they are beautiful and I really like this Honey Bee one.

Boy I admire your focus to get this project done. I really wish I was like that, but I always wait to the last minute and dive myself crazy wondering why the heck I didn't start earlier. That's why I didn't sign up for this project, I was afraid I'd be doing all the pages in one night. :)

You are doing great, can't wait to see the rest!

Happy Valentines Day!!
These are little Valentines Mice made out of little white stones. I stuck felt hearts on them and then embelished them with bows and eyes. This is a fun Valentines Day craft for my daughter's second grade class!

India

Meet India, she is such a treasure! I made from a tea cup I brought back from India last year. She sits 6 1/2 inches tall. The base she sits on is a beautiful square plate I found in Crate & Barrel that matched the tea cup perfectly. India has been embellished with fabrics I also brought back with me. Her hair is a combination of wool and acrylic fibers and she is jeweled with brass accents. India has henna patterns on the souls of her feet and around the tops of her arms and sits in this peaceful position as she meditates. She's waiting to sit in your home and bring you peace.

Meet Mable, she's trying her best to keep her skin glowing. She believes in nourishing her body from the inside out but once a week a good facial mask and cucumbers on her eyes make all the difference in the world. She stand 8 inches tall and would love to sit on the side of your tub or on your dresser. She could spend hours in the bathroom! * Mable is an original one of a kind decorative Art Doll and not meant to be played with as a toy.
