"It's Raining Daisies"

It's not really raining here, I wish it would though because we could use a little moisture around here! I did have a dream that it was raining daisies a few weeks ago which prompted this page. I think I may have drifted into Alice's Wonderland or something?!(O: I have never been much of a writer but the visual stuff can get a little out there in my head. I created this page by painting a textured background in grays and whites. Then I used my hand carved lady stamp and I drew an umbrella above her head. Next I added the daisies mixed in with the raindrops over the entire page. The daisies are done at first with a stamp I found in my girls stamp set. I think I may have to hold onto that one, it's perfect for all my daisy things!! After I finished painting the colors inside the daisy stamps I decided to use some of the letters from my Funky Font Postcards and cut them out to create the wording at the top. This was a fun page and it will never let me forget that lovely dream I had a few weeks ago. Have an imaginative day everyone!!

Funny, I was just doing a dream analysis on a dream I had the other night but it wasn't as pretty as this - hadn't thought of trying to draw them...

  8. Rebecca; What a wonderful dream to have! I love daisies and you captured it beautifully. They have the cutest stamp sets available for girls to play with (big girls too!) It makes it nice to use a stamp and a lot less work too! She's beautiful!

  10. Well, there's certainly worse things it can rain! What a lovely picture and story behind it. I always enjoy hearing what inspires the art, how it's done - satisfies my naturally curious nature :)

  13. Daisies are such a pure uncomplicated flower, and they add life to paintings and gardens.
I really like the umbrella, so pretty. In the garden they add light which I like, some white always seems nice. I always look at the kid stamps, and they have some nice letters at tims also and numbers. Even the letters and numbers tht have the magnet, I was thinking of putting an adheasvie on the front part and using that as a stamp.

I have yet to get to the dollar store for those large erasers, I would like some, I am not confident I can do a good stamp.

Ok I have time to paint, maybe I should.

These are little Valentines Mice made out of little white stones. I stuck felt hearts on them and then embelished them with bows and eyes. This is a fun Valentines Day craft for my daughter's second grade class!

India

Meet India, she is such a treasure! I made from a tea cup I brought back from India last year. She sits 6 1/2 inches tall. The base she sits on is a beautiful square plate I found in Crate & Barrel that matched the tea cup perfectly. India has been embellished with fabrics I also brought back with me. Her hair is a combination of wool and acrylic fibers and she is jeweled with brass accents. India has henna patterns on the souls of her feet and around the tops of her arms and sits in this peaceful position as she meditates. She's waiting to sit in your home and bring you peace.
